APS5 Project Officer | Federal Government Agency

Location: Surry Hills NSW (Hybrid Flexibility)

Pay Rate: $55.24 per hour + superannuation

Randstad is partnering with a prominent Federal Government agency in the disability sector to recruit multiple experienced APS5 Project Officers. This role supports the Performance, Quality, and National Workload Management branch, focusing on delivering high-quality, data-driven insights to support the agency's continuous improvement framework. The successful candidate will manage their workflow and make independent decisions with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project & Performance Support: Assist with monitoring program activities, drafting business cases and executive briefs, and supporting the implementation of workload management and performance reporting strategies.
  • Data Analysis & Systems: Extract and interpret data using technical tools such as PACE, SAS, and Advanced Excel (including Power Query/Pivot Tables). Manage workflow routing and permissions, and support data-driven decision making using agency business systems like PACE and SAP CRM.
  • Communication: Translate complex technical information and jargon into clear, evidence-informed, and accessible recommendations for internal stakeholders.
  • Workflow Management: Manage workflow requests through JIRA triage and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively identify learning areas and apply new skills to enhance project outcomes.

Skills & Experience

  • Technical & Analytical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential. Experience with business systems such as JIRA or Salesforce is highly desirable. Strong analytical judgment to resolve issues and make evidence-informed decisions.
  • Systems Mindset: Strong understanding of, or the ability to quickly learn, PACE and SAP CRM government operating systems.
  • Autonomy & Adaptability: Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities, and maintain effectiveness during major changes in work environment or responsibilities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Customer-centric approach with the ability to cultivate relationships that build commitment and trust.
  • NDIS Knowledge (Desirable): An understanding of NDIS legislation and the "Reasonable and Necessary" frameworks.

Selection Requirements

  • Eligibility: Must be an Australian Citizen to be considered.
